Looking good. Is that a purple monti digtata? If so the more light you give it the more colorful it will get.

No, it is

Montipora Digitata Coral, German Blue Polyp - Aquacultured, ORA from DFS. Man has it grown fast!!! I have a single 150w 10k AQ halide in the middle and 2 39w t5s. Also, the digitata did lose some of the blue color in the polyps and the entire skeleton lightened a bit, although I'm begining to think that the 39w T5s just don't provide enough oooomph (I have 2 of them) compared to even 2" VHO tubes. I don't have the money to experiment though. Otherwise, the coral seems pretty happy. I'm stil blown away by the growth in 2 months.

Your 10K bulb could also have helped the coral to lose some of its color.

Why would a 10k make the coral loose some color? Because it doesn't have the higher blue spectrum light in it? Actually, the next halide I get I think I'm going to go to a 14k for a bit more blue. Anyone know of some good 14k 150W DE bulbs?

Exactly. I've heard of the lack of blue in bulbs making corals lose their color a bit. It's a trade off, though, because with the increase in color comes the decrease in growth. :)

picked up a few new corals and a true perc clown from DFS. There service and packing is top notch. Never had any problems with them.

I got an ORA Blue millepora and an ORA Scripps Millepora - well, it's supposed to be a scripps but I still can't see any red/pink. Only the blue tips look like the picture. Maybe when it gets bigger... :?

Funny, the perc is the smallest fish by far and is the most aggressive. The Blue line wrasse and diamond goby (both at least double the size) are afraid of him. It cracks me up...

Give your Mille's time to adjust. They will come around.
They have great polyp extension and as long as they keep it your on the right track.

The tips of the Scripps millie were damaged during shipping. Instead of the white color they are all blue now - with polyps starting to come out the tips. I think both are pretty happy where they are placed in the tank. They're my first millie's! :D

They are most likely not damaged and are supposed to be that way. The scripps mille has a pink body and blue growth tips. I have one. There are alot of corals out there that have assorted colored tips (yellow, green, purple in my tank alone). Not all are white. I find that the polyps on the growth tips in all of my SPS, usually only extend at night. I believe this is from lack of UV protection. Your corals look real healthy in those pics. Things are good for you for now.
