Can't you just dip your camera under the water??? Just kidding. How about turn off the water for a few minutes for the ripple to calm down, then you can take the picture without the help of your acrylic. Just remember to turn the pump back on after you done. Nice gigas, BTW.

easier said than done due to the complex home made surge device i dont like to fool with the folio by turning off the power to the several pumps involved and i taped in to the main return line to feed my calcium reactor so the pics will usually have lots of current , tell the ocean to calm down

I understand.

In the first pic, it looks like you are using a small plastic container to help with the rough water surface. Will it work if you put some water inside the container to make the reflection go away? I assume the bright light is the MH lighting, not from the camera flash.

Is it a gigas? I thought it looked squasmosa looking. Nice one either way. How long have you had it? My derasa is pushing 10" now, and man does it open wide.

It is probably a squamosa, since gigas almost never have those projection on the shell.
