In Japan, red ones go for $120 and white for $180. My local LFS often (but not always) has them. At least, that's what I assume these are.

Yes, you are correct this is what this coral is.

Envy you, of course but not because of the price, as value is only in the eyes of the beholder, and if the price is right for you, that's your choice and prerogative, whatever the amount it's only relative to your desire and financial wealth, and even a million dollars could be "peanuts" if it's something you really appreciate. Art collectors and dealers know this "itch" very well.
Envy you, YES, but only because we seem to have the only Authorities in the world that apply CITES regulations to the letter and restrict our hobby to "reverse gear" while the rest of the world is advancing and enjoys a freedom we can only dream about.
Like they say here: Good on you, mate, may the force be with you, and happy New Year. !!!

So I apologize if my tone comes across harsh, but do realize this thread is here to bash on me and I do take offense to that. People talk blindly and thats just not a correct way to approach anything.

Have a great day and a Merry Christmas!

I completely agree about people talking blindly. I don't agree this thread is 'here to bash' you. People will always be interested in an ultra rare coral, and sometimes we have seen ebay posts of 'ultra rare rose bubble anemones' for $1000 in this forum. That is a case of 'sucker city', I'm sure you'll agree.

I'm pretty confident the vast majority of the people who have posted in this thread were unaware what a Rhizotrochus is typically worth, or had even seen or heard of one. I certainly hadn't, and reefnutz (a big time LE SPS collector himself) apparently hadn't either.

Phil, ya I am sorry to hear that. Australia is VERY strict on their importing/exporting! You guys do still get some killer stuff though =).

Matt:

You are correct, and I do correct myself. I was a bit annoyed this morning/afternoon when I posted =). There are a few here though that did take a shot at the seller which did happen to be me. For those truly curious I apologize.

They are a killer coral, unfortunately to rare to be enjoyed by everyone =(.

Yes we do have some good stuff here which we can buy from legal collectors, but the hobby is not progressing as farming is not viable just because we can not export ANY "stuff", and even locally we can only "swap" for other good stuff.
To give you an example, the only Australian giant clams farm left is on Cocos island, north of Western Australia, but we are not allowed to import from this Australian island, simply because it is in a different "economic zone", whatever that means.
I say it again, you guys are the lucky ones, because you can go for it, we can only watch and grin !!!
