Tank update ~8 months... everything seems to be doing well, but I unfortunately had a few fish losses in the last few months (mystery wrasse jumped during my finals week---i was neglecting the tank, and the joculator was lost due to a temp spike over the summer--chiller failed). Other than that, all the corals have been doing well...

Awesome tank

Does the light bleed out bother you much when you are sitting down in the room with the tank?

I am talking about the light between the tank top and the light bottom..

I was considering getting legs like that for my light and doing away with the piece of glass I have under them.

Thanks knucklehead...actually the light bleed doesn't bother me at all. I can stare 1ft away from the tank for long periods of time without getting a headache, probably because the halide is pretty far recessed up in the fixture and no direct rays are hitting me at the viewing angle. I hope i understood your question correctly...hehe

It looks like a nice healthy tank to me.

Nice pics too.

Thanks for sharing Nico. ;)

I love the looks of that tank.

The different colors!

I also like what you did with your light, I am going to have to do some research to see if I can do the same thing with mine.

Thanks knucklehead, I also managed to squeeze in a 40w PC in that canopy as well, next to the halide (currently 20kk 250w DE with 10k 40w PC). I should be receiving an XM 10k bulb along with a 40w actinic PC to try out in the next day or two, so I'll see if it's any better.

I think I also might have a baby maxima clam (<1/2") that hitch-hiked on one of my rocks... I'll have to keep an eye on it and get a pic of it soon, hopefully. :)

Ah, I misunderstood then

I thought you squeezed the 250w DE in with both the original bulbs.

So, you put one of the original lights back in it or something different?

Mine has 2- 65 watt PC's in it with either one or two Led's.

I have been thinking of putting something else with it.

I still can't get over the colors, one of the colors in there really sets the tank off, but I don't know which one it is... :D
