What exactly is a frag, and how would you go about creatting frags from the coral you already have? Is there certain ones you can frag, or can you just frag any coral?? Or am i completely off? I just got a Green Mushroom coral and it's pretty small, would i be able to "frag" it? Thanks for the help.

Frag (n) usually applies to fragment of a living hard coral, but it also applies to soft coral and mushroom as well. You can frag (v) any coral by cutting the coral appropriately (that is, without inflicting fatal injury to both the mother colony and the frag). The best frag-able corals are those that are very healthy and in "decent" size. HTH.

Frags will range in size from 0.5" to several inches. A good size is as big as you can get :) It allows for more mounting options. I say 1-2" is a decent size.

For mushroon, a good size depends on the type. Most will split and multiple by itself without fragging. However, you can cut a mushroom in half (like a birthday cake) down the middle, and most variety will recover well. My guess is that anything larger than 1 inch in diameter is good. Make sure the razor blade is shape and clean.

Yes Ranger, if they are happy in your tank, most of them can multiple asexually.

Someone's a little too insecure from having a job where dudes live, shyt, and shower together. ;)

No stupid questions Jordan, except the ones we don't ask. There is an art to fragging, but you'd be surprised how easily some corals take to it.
