The flow in my 300G tank keeps particles suspended all the time. I would have thought that these particles would have made it over the overflows so they could get filtered out in the sump, but so far that has not been the case.

I was wondering if one of these Ocean Clear Filters would be a good idea to clean my tank water up a bit.

Anyone have any experience with them?

Any other ideas for water polishing?

I have a canister filter, and while I don't have it hooked up at present, I find that when I do a lot of moving rock around and such it really clears the water up quick.

I don't see any reason you wouldn't want to use it for water polishing. I wouldn't keep it in the loop all the time, just when you need it. Like now with all that new rock in there.

I have a diatom XL diatomaceous earth filter that I've used in the past on my fish only tanks that I've used to polish the water. I've been told that it takes out alot of nutrients, but after about 8 hours of running it the water is unbelieveably clean. I've heard people complain about them before, but I've had no problems with it. You just don't want to run it continuously.
