Anyone know how to connect Ozone to the MR-1? Just run it to the intake of the needle valve?

:D

I believe that is how some people do it. Check with Andy at MRC, I think he has a 'T' that you put in there somewhere and hook your ozone up to that.

What pump are you using on the MR-1?

Mag 12.

Right now I am not seeing the reason for the tee - the ozone line goes right in the silencer hole with room to spare.

And so for, the MR-1 is kicking my ER's butt.

That is what I expected!

In anycase if the ozone goes in the skimmer and their is still space for it to pull additional air you should be fine!

Really it is what I assumed as I have run both a CS8-3 and a Bullet 3. Those models are compairable in size, and I was always much happier after I switched to a becket skimmer. I bought the Euro-reef after listening to escobals thoughts of long contact time. The euro-reef moves less water through it and gets a better contact time in the actual water. After using it for a while I wasn't very impressed. It was good but I liked the other becket skimmers I had seen so I traded my ER for the bullet 3, waste collecter, and mak 4.

IMO the becket skimmers perform better as they have a longer dry contact tube. The foam gets thicker and the mixing box is more turbulent. I am sure there is more to it then that but I can't see what. The bubbles in the ER are fine and well formed, pretty uniform in general.

Of course this is JME and YMMV, but I will always bet on the becket.
