I just got this. Yes, it made it. It kept going on and off in that spot so I moved the rock on the other side of the tank (and far from the suspected leather). It recovered in 2-3 days and been fine ever since. That is until yesterday when it looked bad for the last 2-3 hours (maybe because the lights turned off for about 1/2h??!). Today is back again.
The BTA in question is under a 250W DE MH 14,000K. However a clone of this one is in my fuge (20 gal long) under 130W PC (10,000K + actinic) and is doing fine at all times (even when the one under MH was doing bad). The one under the PCs even split and now I have two in the fuge. So.... they can live and multiply under PCs - however, the 20gal long is pretty shallow, so they get plenty of light.
