With all of the vendors on the web claiming to have the best LR available and hand picking every rock for you, it is hard to figure out who is legit and who is not.. I'm in northern california and am looking for the best rock around. Ideally I would like to find something local, but I have had ZERO luck... I ran across Tampa Bay Salt Water online, looks like their LR is very umm...Live.. Anyone have experience with these guys? Can anyone recomend a good place to order or find quality cured LR?

Thanks
Chris

their live rock is much denser so less size for the price you pay. And if you believe Anthony Calfo's book, you really can't expect the level of diversity in your live rock that's been sitting in the atlantic for a few years to that in the pacific (which is the only other legal place) that's been there for hundreds of years.

That being said, I wouldn't order cured live rock online, so can't give a recommendation.

It is a good product...different product than the Fiji type. A lot of what you see will die off but you are left with a nice mix of life...and it is environmentally sound....

If you're interested in Fiji rock and can't get anything good locally, I've always been satisfied with http://www.premiumaquatics.com. There are some other nice choices for Pacific rock these days too, and if you email Jason and tell him what you're looking for, he can give you some good feedback.

http://www.marinedepotlive.com/ might be another option (and they are out in CA), although I have no experience with them...
