Ive got a wierd clicking noise coming from my tank. I cant figure out what the hell it is. I know its not something bouncing around because I have searched threw all the cords and heaters and such an nothing is bouncing. I read a post a while back about the same thing but I couldnt find it searching. Anyone got any idea on how to find it or what the hell might be?

It might be a pistol shrimp or a mantis shrimp you got as a hitch-hiker on live rock.

Another possilibility is any pumps or powerheads might be cavitating.

and for all of us whos vocabulary is not as overly developed as lens' the following definition might be helpfull

Cavitation: The formation of vapor bubbles in a liquid often due to induced low pressures. Cavitation is commonly associated with damage to mechanical components from the rapid expansion and collapse of gases causing pitting on the surface of the component. Typical examples of cavitation damage include marine propeller blades and hydraulic pumps.

PS len wouldnt this result in more of a pop than a click ??

What's the difference between a pop and a click but magnitude ;)

Air or particulates stuck in your pump's impellar assembly can make occasional or regular noise. It usually produces noticable micro bubbles too.
