I'm planning fish for my SPS dominated 125 gallong tank. There will be another 100g sump in the basement.
The big fish in the tank will be a powder blue tang, and will be the last fish added.
I will have a clam or two in the tank.
I want a bunch of colorful wrasses. I have a Lubbocks wrasse out on loan right now. I think I want 3 or 4 red filamented flasher wrasses. Then I was thinking of maybe adding a pair of yelLow coris wrasses.
A flame angel is likely in the mix. The next-to-last fish added will be a reef-safe trigger.
I think I'm pretty safe with this wrasse mix. Anyone see any glaring problems here?
Yeah, I know of the risk of keeping pygmy angels and "reef-safe" triggers in an SPS/clam tank.
I've planned this out a while now.

Hey, MG. I think the fairy wrasse should do fine. The coris are cool as juvis but pick at clams and some polyps as adults IME. But I would think the trigger would pose more of a threat than the coris. What type are you thinking of, Pinktail? The wrasse will like mild tankmates as well. Should be a beautiful tank if you can pull it off. Good luck

Put the flasher wrasses in before anything else. Let them get real comfortable before adding anything else.

By yellow coris do you mean Halichoeres chrysus? Great little fish. They get along well with flashers IME.

Pinktail, sargassum, or blue throat trigger. Most likely pink tail, I guess.

Yeah, H. chrysus. Good to hear an endorsement.
Was thinking of a 6-line, but thought it'd be too much red in the tank.

I too endorse H. chyrus. Mine is full-grown now and is a great fish. Very hardy (essentially untouched by a velvet/ich outbreak in my tank about 2 years ago) and doesn't bother any fish or corals in my tank. I recently added a 4-line wrasse which is about half the size of the H. chyrus, and he's completely non-aggressive towards it. Sleeps in the sand every night, too - very cool. :)

I'd be surprised if flashers and a 6 line got along together. Certainly not impossible but I wouldn't try it.

Hey, MG. Pinktails and bluethroats are great fish. I like their more mellow attitude and sleeker shape than most of the others. Good luck.
