Anyone running an "Oceans Motions" Revolution? or the 4 Way

Thinking of chucking the SCWD and allowing my closed loop pump to run better. Also want to change the flow patterns.

The revolutions look really neat.

But the 4-way might work great as well.

I have a squirt on order. I was running 2 SCWDS, but after replacing 2 of them I realized that I could have already paid for a squirt and some corals. Plus, the SCWD reduces flow and the squirt or the 4 way don't.
I also have a revolution on order. Neat thing, but I haven't seen it work yet.

Just had my SQWD take the last dive on me. I'm a week away from orderring the squirt and a couple revolutions.

Lemme know when you get yours Rich, I'd like to check it out.

*sigh* I have two SQWD's on my shelf to install on my new tank setup. Don't like what I'm hearing!

For the ones who had one die, can you crack one open and take some pictures of the inside?

I have a SCWD for over 6 months to maybe a year (Can't remmeber). I notice that it sticks allot to one output and it has cut back the flow of the pump as well. I like the random flow.

There are some pictures of the inside floating around somewhere, I will try to find them or crack one of mine.
The problem with the SCWD is that if it sticks, and soaking it in mild acid doesn't fix the problem (it did once for me), you cant get inside and get it moving again.
When I first installed one of them I thought no big deal, because when it sticks a new one is cheap. But with two, the replacement cost...well I'm repeating myself. :D

The replacement cost and the loss of flow (40%!) makes me think the Squirt is more cost effective that the SCWD.

Where would I find one of these "squirts" or "revolutions". I am looking into SeaSwirls now and would love the alternating curent idea.

Thanks

Any updates on the Oceans Motions stuff?

What do you think would be good for my 58? I have a blueline 40HD (90GPH pressure rated) pump for the closed loop and a mag9 on my return.

The whole thing looks pretty sweet. A 4-way with those revolutions would be great. Someone needs to try this and let us know how it's going.

Just bringing this back to the top, looking for any feedback on the Squirt. Two main questions: 1) How quiet is it? 2) Would a pressure rated pump, be better when using a Squirt? Looking at the Iwaki 40RLT vs. the 40RLXT.
Any head/pressure loss estimates would be helpful as well.

Also Paul said they should stand up to being put on a wavemaker- has anyone tried this? I have a Wavemaster and am considering putting the Squirt on one of the powerhead circuits to further randomize the current in the tank.

Thanks!

The only head/pressure loss is from friction or head, nothing extra from the device. You can use a pressure rated pump, but the Squirt will only take like 1300 gallons an hour before the magnets stop moving.

I wouldn't bother, unless you have all the outs close together. Each one only goes active like once per minute.
