Hi all, I am setting up a phoban reactor on my 72g, I figure with my DSB and rock I have about 50g real volume. When looking at the Phosban label it suggests 50 grams per 50 gallons, easy enough, although when reading the Reactor directions thet say 130 grams minimum should be used in reactor. Any advice? I do not want alkilinty drop to be an issue by using too much . Thanks in advance.......:fight2:

After gradually increasing "dosage", I now change 150g of Phosban at a time. My AquaController Jr did not show any change in alkalinity during my last replacement. I'm scheduled to change the media today, so I'll check again for a spike/drop.

p.s. It's a 65g tank with 20g sump.

How often do you changes the phosban media? Does it have a color change or some type of indicator when it needs to be changed?

Ideally, it should be changed when exhausted, i.e. phosphate levels will begin to rise. I don't have an accurate test kit for PO4, so I changed mine monthly.
