i have had this tang for 2 years now... and out of nowhere it started getting realy skinny and red patches appeared on it... it does not seem to be getting any better... is this some kind of bacterial infection that can be treated with a FW dip ???

How is your water quality? Any other inhabitants in the tank? And if yes, how are they doing?

I've seen red patches on yellows before...but I seem to remember it was due to ammonia burns from poor shipping. This is obviously not your problem.

I dunno...sorry...I am hopeful someone else will chime in.

Is there live macros for the tang to graze on?

Sure sounds like some type of bacteria infection. Hope the tang can recover.

A lot of times red blotches/streaks are caused by low ph.
