starving cardinal

i have a new cardinal fish and it hasn't eaten in two days. any idea as to what's going on or is this normal? i have a kole and yellow tang, two tomato clowns and a cleaner wrasse and they are all eating great and looking good. only the cardinal is not eating. he/she is looking really good and healthy though... (he/she don't care much for the wrasse mind you)
any ideas would be appreciated thanks

I haven't had any luck with Bangai Cardinalfish. The wild caught ones haven't been very hardy, or so I hear.

Was it eating and then stopped eating? Or is it a new purchase that hasn't eaten at all?

What genus and species is this cardinal?
What are you trying to feed it?
Do you have live rock and live sand?

it was a gift two days ago and it hasn't eaten yet.

i have:
about 50lbs live rock and little sand (not even one inch on bottom)
i feed everyone else with Ward's Total Marine flake food and Hikari's frozen brine shrimp.
i have no clue to the genus of the fish. it's a common fish and not the pyjama cardinal

I wouldn't worry too much just yet. My guess is he's still acclimating.

That's a Bangaii Cardinalfish.

this is inside a 90 gallon tank with a 35 gallon sump a mag 12 return pump and four VHO URI bulbs - two white and two blue for now. this shot here is from the right hand side.

Have you considered a little live brine? That might get him eating.

It could be eating copepods at the moment. Try feeding live brine shrimp to wet it's appetite. After that shreds of meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, eel, fish etc. Flake foods aren't the best.

i am hearing that more and more that flake food isn't the greatest thing to be feeding this fine specimens. hmmm... thank you for your advice

My Bangaii is very picky. The only things he will eat are Mysis or Brine shrimp.
