Just tried to glue flex drain hose to schedule 40 PVC using PVC cement. Well, it doesn't work. :( After curing it for several days and trying it in the system the joint leaked badly. I pulled the pieces apart (first bad sign) and there was evidence the solvent had "melted" the schedule 40 PVC plastic but the soft black plastic inside the flex hose was unphased. Stuff is like teflon. Anyone know what kind of plastic the flex hose is made of and what solvent works? Thanks!

What is the "flex hose" made of? Is it PVC or some other material. Sounds like it's some other material because regular PVC cement, while not ideal, should have worked.

On my flex hose (Spa-Flex) it said to use "PVC Solvent", and that's what I used -> gray on the outside, black on the inside. It's also used to glue electric pipes (the gray type).
