My Sebae Anemone Heteractis malu which is hosted by a Percula Clown seems to be having some troubles... I have not made any new changes to my tank... normally when the lights are on the Anemone is wide open and large... now its kinda moved into the corner of a rock.. and is just hanging down closed... any ideas?

how's it doing? mine recently closed up and died, for reasons unknown. best guess is that the sebae was too young to host a porcelain.

same here. mine was rock and roll for about 8 weeks. was yours white when you bought it? other probably cause of mine's demise is that it was too stressed when i purchased it.

I may be losing mine now too. I have no idea why. It was always white for me and then out of the blue it just starting to be small all the time and hiding in the rock rather than out in full bloom like it used to be. I think it was to young to host my ocellaris and finally had enough

Try to feed it a small piece of raw shrimp.

The anemone has no energy if it has lost it's zooanthallae and is not being fed regularly. It will just weaken and die.

Yes. If it doesn't stick, try again later. Of course a lack of stick is not a good sign though. Feeding IMO seems to be a more important to sebae anemones.

Sorry to hear than nd. :(

I would try feeding daily with a new anemone. At least until it gets some color back.

I use tongs as my sebae gives me a rash, plus I don't want to be removing any nematocysts from it. A non sticky anemone has probably been handled to much.

My sebae is now gigantic, but it gets kind of limp when hungry. It will take a whole tiger prawn once a week or so. It would probably eat more.

If you have clowns that remove the food, cover the anemone with a net or something until it gets the food down.

Emily.. this is all new to me.. I dont understand how that thing could eat.. basically just get some large shrimp cut it up and put it right into the center of the anenome???
