Hey Mitch

Nice work with the clam. What lights are you running?
I was wondering what your gravel/sand is?
Diameter?
It looks terrific, yet at the same time suspiciously clean.
I want some. And i want to keep it that clean.

cheers
Todd

Reefnutz did you imbed the crocea you self or did it do this over time?

I have always wanted a Squamosa but am having a hard time finding a nice one.

Todd,

My lights are a Custom Sea Life prism pendant with a 250W 10k Ushio and two 28w PC actinic bulbs.

I have just fine sand in the tank. It has stayed very clean with the help of two fighting conchs.

I created the hole to be just large enough for a Crocea to reach adult size.

I once had a lovely Red Sea Squamosa that had blue dots. It also had 2 shrimp living inside. Soon as it grew too big for my tank, I sold to a LFS and it died a month later. :(

Emily,
Beautiful clams. Even your coralline is stunning! How big are those baby maximas?

Ya think I would be able to keep a squamosa or derasa under 130 watt PC's in a 29 gal.?

How much of your 130 watts is actinic? If it's at least half, than I would say yes. Keep in mind, these two species will require a lot of calcium/alk and will quickly outgrow a 29.
