Hello Everyone!

It has been awhile since I have been here so thought I would update you on what has been going on. I just recently tore down my three year old 80 gallon reef system as I had to many issues with it and the DSB and now in the process of getting a smaller system up and running very soon.

This new system will be a very high flow energy system as I want a sps dominated tank.

Due to my phsical limitations I am going with a 2' x 2' x 2' cube tank. The new tank will be shipped out this coming Thursday and the canopy and stand is being built next week by a very good friend. The canopy will be 14" high and have two 250ww MH 10,000k Ushio's and 2- 55ww PC's Coralife actinic blue blubs. Will have two four inch fans in the hood and an 8" fan blowing across the 23" x 18" by 16" sump/refugium. I will add a some pics explaining the system.

Will have a Turbo Flotor 1000 Skimmer powered by an Ocean Runner 2700 German made pump.

Hope you enjoy! The first pic is the start of the construction of the cube tank. As you can see it has a black back and rounded polished front corners.:)

The following pic is my return line plans for the tank. Most of the plumbing has been done and still need to order some more parts. This return line will be run by a Mag 9.5 or 12 pump. :)

Looks fantastic,,,, did you consider a single 400w over 2x250?

What fish are you considering?

How deep will the sand bed be this time?

You settting up bioballs or fuge in the sump?

Junk I am going to utilize my existing light system into this one.

This will be a bare bottom tank so no more DSB.

I will get very small fish maybe up to four. For sure a sand lizard goby but beyond that I don't know at this point.

I will be using no bio-balls and may put some rubble rock and some macro algae in the refugium part of the sump but this is not for sure yet either.

Main theory to this tank is not have any detritus settle anywhere and to get it out of the system as soon as possible. HTH Johnny:)
