RO/DI Pressure

My water pressure is something between 35-38 PSI I have a 75 GPD 4 stage RO/DI and really need to have like 75-85 PSI.

What kind of pump do I put on the line and is there adapters for this little plastic pressure line?


What do I do to make my RO/DI go?

You need a booster pump. I use an Aquatec CDP 6800 which takes my pressure up to 85 psi. The increased production, reduced waste and better RO quality is very satisfying, and the pump is whisper quiet. It is US made so I am sure that you can get them.

You can buy this pump with the right attachments to take standard 1/4" RO tube.

If you are looking for adapters, connectors, taps etc. etc., John Guest do a load of them.

Ditto on the use of booster pump. But before getting one, you need to think about how much more benefit will it give you... what is your GPD rating on your RO filter now?

My 6800 is only rated at 60PSI not 85

That's why I always tell people to weight the benefit before getting a booster pump.

Yipppeee ! At last, something in the UK that doesn't cost twice as much as in the US.

My Aquatec cost US$ 170.

I have stinky water (700 ppm) and low mains pressure (about 25 psi). I also pay for my water.

I have halved my ratio of waste/good, reduced my TDS reading ex RO from about 30 to 15 ppm and eliminated silicates (previously ex RO 20 ppm, now zero). The real boost to me is the quality of the RO. DI resin is hard to buy in the UK (yes, I know, but this is another world folks), and when you can get it, it costa bomba. And I need it.

So I recharge my bed and it is a horrible stinky operation....but now only half as often !

I luv my pump.

Maybe I should export them ?

(Ps yellowtang, they do a range 6800's - you specify where the cut-out valve operates. But possibly your RO "restictor" valve on the waste pipe dictates the pressure readings you get ?)
