I just bought a really neat rose anemone. the problem with this guy is that everywhere i put him, he decides to move. he always moves back and underneath the rocks where i cant really see him. im getting nervous handling him and now hes in a spot where i cant even really get him out without disassembling my rock setup. what can i do? how am i supposed to place him and not get him to move around?

yep, you gotta deal with it. your rbta will not settle down until it is comfortable with the curent, the light, and everything else. part of owning an anemone. they will move. if he does happen to settle somewhere that you like, you can try offering it a bit of food and that sometimes will placate thm and they will hang around in that spot. if you cease feeding it n that spot, it will pack up and move again. have patience though, they get BIG pretty fast, and you will see it. good luck!

Put it this way: would you want to move somewhere where you really cant receive your primary form of energy(ies)? Even if he moves under the rock, he will always eventually comeback to where it can get the best light, with the right flow and such. My friend's anemones have always done the same thing; he just lets them move to wherever they want to go, and they have always moved into the coolest spots, once they were done acclimating themselves to the whole situation(s).
That feeding thing is a good idea! Id never thought of that... Try that, then, whah' dontcha'? Sounds like it'd work!
