wihtin 2 weeks of getting my livestock, I have lost 1 firefish gobie and 2 percula clowns, and my coral banded shrimp is now missing an arm. Would this be the work of my emerald crab. I found him feeding on the dead fish. I did water tests just in case, and everything is fine. Should I get ride of the $5 crab that is killing my $25 fish?

Your probably going to get mixed reviews about emerald crabs. The one I had loved to trim my xenia for me, but it never bothered any fish or shrimp, that I was aware of.

Have a few giant e crabs in my tank. More bark than bite. Never bother shrimp, fish (2 O. clowns, and blenny+ misc) more than shakin' a claw at them.
Agree w/ biker and Juck... There is probably soemthing else killing your fish.

Huh? I never said it was something else. It's likely to be the emerald crab that is killing the fish.

Mixed review here..ive owned two. neither bothered a thing...all creatures have their own personalities so even the most passive of creatures can turn out to be a hellion..

also when my firefish gobie bought it, his high dorsal fin looked like it was picked at and half gone. Then a couple of days later the emerald crab was pulling him in a hole to feed on.

In my personal opinion I would say the emerald crab did not do it. I always keep a few in all my tanks and have yet to have a problem. I would say until you see it do it I assume it did not

Could be that your emerald is pickin off the fish if they are really sick and/or dying. I wouldn't banish him just yet...
