I tried one of those in a 29 years ago. You may as well go skimmerless until you get a decent skimmer. At this point it is only wasting tank space. Get a HOB Remora or CPR BakPak.

I had a HOB remora on my 30g and it rocked. Very good skimmer.

Well, regarding the bubbles in your tank, I think you are just going to have to tinker with it. I have skimmer that bubbles after I clean it and I just start adjusting one thing, and let it sit for a few hours, then just adjust the air or water a little bit until I get it right.

BUT, with hang on skimmers, you may never get it totally bubble free, my hang on would still lob out a few big ones from time to time, all I cared about was the micro bubbles though.

That skimmer would be okay on a little tank. I think you will have to experiment with air intake more than anything else as hang-on style skimmers (even internal) will usually find their water level in accordance to the level in the tank. Cheap stuff works too, as long as you have the time to fiddle with it. Hope it was on sale.

dude I had the same skimmer for years in a fish only tank and they did fine, as far as a reef though I dont think itll skim too much, but the fish wont give a big crap. Oh yeah I wasnt suggesting anyone was a jerkface, I was just trying to stop a argument.
