Any one use the new Quiet One pumps?

They are the ones that can run internal or external.

I am wondering about running one external for a closed loop. They say they are air cooled when run external adn water cooled when run internal.

I figure this should not add too much heat and give me the rough 1000 GPH I am looking for.

Also the pump states 1 inch plumbing, If I were to use 3/4 in plumbing with adapters, would this be a problem? I will be using a SWCD as well.

You can do this but you will create additional back pressure that reduce flow.

xrunner is right about the reduce flow w/ increased pressure. I don't know about those pumps, I have never used them. I have two of the new 1500 gph Rio Hi Flows. I like them which shocks me because I had done nothing but cuss everyone I had ever used & quit using them. The new high flows are better made IMO. I really like Mag Drives for reliability.

QuiteOne is for external use only. They are quite. They will add a full degree or two to your tanks temperature. Their quality is suspect too. Mine came with a romex connector connecting the cord to the pump.

Mine seems to jam more frequently than other brands of pumps.

You can never go wrong with an Iwaki. An Iwaki 30 or 40 would work well for you. They last forever and are reasonably priced.

the company should give credit to those that bought the short lived original "Quiet One".

For external I love my Little Giant MQDX4-SC it'll give that flow but it is for circulation or return from sump only, not pressure setups. If you want internal\external that is close to quiet one in size and all but higher flow and pressure look into one of the Mag Drive pumps they are priced pretty good have good flow ratings for price.
