I am in the process of upgrading from a 58 g. to a brand new 75 and threw away the protein skimmer that had come with that system a while ago. I've been skimmerless ever since, but am tired of dealing with the algae issues. Does anyone have a recommendation for a protein skimmer for this size tank? I only have 3 fish at the moment but plan to add a couple more when the new tank is set up. Other than that, its mostly softies.

Thanks for any help.

I recommend the AquaC Remora or Remora Pro. I own a Remora Pro (Mag-3 upgrade, preskimmer box) on a 120, and it works fine. Hardly any adjustments ever, and easy cleaning. A bit of a headache to get the preskimmer box mounted, though.

If you can stand the outsize preskimmer box, go with the Remora Pro/Mag-3/preskimmer, otherwise, you can use the Remora/Maxi-Jet/preskimmer.

If you're running a sump, the AquaC Urchin is essentially the same as the Remora, but in a 'stand-in-the-sump' package.

Euroreef ES5-2 ,, holy crap does that thing skim.

I had a Prizm and Bakpak2 running on my 75 at the same time and this Euro-reef thing blows them away.

I agree with Juck. I have a ES5-2 on a 55gal. stuffed to the top with acro, and it ROCKS! Honestly, I was having problems with this tank before, and now it's one of my best tanks. I have no doubt this skimmer saved many of the corals in this tank.
