I bought this stupid thing off of EBAY and I cant stand it, If I wouldnt have paid $50 for it I would use it for target practice. It is always sucking too much or too little water. I cant seem to get it just right. NOW the damn extension tube broke so I cant use it to skim my live rock storage.... I would like to meet MR. Prizm and shove this clean up his ................ :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

Ahhhh, better now.
Thank you for listening.

LOL sounds like the prizm and seaclone are fighting for last place .

You should have asked for reviews on that skimmer here on reefs.org....

I did, and I got mixed reviews... I think someone was messing with me when they said that it was a good skimmer. What would be a good inexpensive skimmer?

I used a Prizm on my 24G nano tank. IMO it was just about sufficient. It did pull out crap every week, though I wouldnt use it on a tank bigger than 30G.

My friend uses one on a 55 gal tank and he cant turn it all the way up because it overflows. but it does pull a bit of gunk out.

I highly recommend my skimmer, the AquaC Urchin. I use the in-sump version but if you need a hang-on skimmer thay have that version as well. Best skimmer I have ever used, only cost me 155.00 at marinedepot. Ask around, nothing but rave reviews for the AquaC line...

Inexpensive and cheap are two different things.

I think that somewhere someone makes a skimmer for under $250 that is worth while. I hope anyway or I can just do without.

200 gallon!!! I will be keeping anything I can fit in the tank. Mostly corals.

imo- you will NOT find good skimmer pump combo for that tank for less than $200-250

I agree with vitz. You need a fairly powerful skimmer to do a decent job on a stocked 200gal. such as a Euro Reef, Aqua C , Lifereef, PM, etc. None of these are exactly inexpensive. Shop around on the internet, good deals can be had.

a red sea berlin, or a tunze, would be excellent choices, imo, and below the 250, or just at that mark :)

Supaboy, it seems that I heard somewhere that the remora was garbage. I dont know why but that sticks out in my head. How much and what is the tunze skimmer called? Who sells them, I hear good things about tunze.

I have a prizm that I'm ready to pound into the ground...I am looking at an Aqua C Remora. For about the last year I've been hearing nothing but good things about them

for a 200gal tank you are looking at the EV series of AquaC, no urchin or remora is gonna handle 200Gal IMO...BakPak2r or AquaC remora/urchin for anything under 60gal...my Bak Pak 2r pulls out great skimmate on my 20 i can only imagine how it would be on a 46
