Most soft corals are easy to frag. I would try just using a razor blade or scissors and chop off what you want. Leave the original attached to the rock. Or split the rock it shares and split the coral where the rock breaks, this was both pieces are already attached and you just need to let the cuts heal.

I am not familiar with your paticular coral but ifits anything like most soft corals this will work.

I wouldn't touch a chili coral. I would leave it completely alone and just let it be happy.

Is this what you're dealing with:

The truth is, very few seem to be able to keep chilis alive for decent periods of time. So, if yours seems to responding very favorably to its current environment, I wouldn't do a thing to it. But...if you really feel like you must, I would drop a line to Eric Borneman over at the Coral Forum at ReefCentral. Don't want to offend anyone with the cross-forum recommendation, but I don't think many have experience splitting up this particular coral, and he would have the best advice for doing so.
