Hi all,

I have a fairly well stocked 125 gallon SPS/LPS tank that is being overrun by bubble algae and I don't know what to do.

I have tried water changes, running carbon, emerald crabs, even a Foxface with no impact whatsoever. The crabs walk over the algae to get to other food and I swear the Foxface laughs at me as he swims by bubbles big enough to show your reflection.

I pull as many as I can out by hand, but there are too many and too many corals. Short of emptying the tank, what can I do? I have been told that a Purple tang may eat bubble algae, then that a Powder Blue may.... suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks,

Eddi

I had a problem with bubble algae until I got a yellow tang. That guy ate every bit of it and won't let it come back. I don't know if all tangs will eat it though.

What about a chemical solution? Shoot it with some chemi-clean, then maybe your critters will go for it since it wont be overfun.
