As Righty said, which types of corals are we talking about? That will really determine the recommendations.

I don't feed mine at all, they are all photosynthetic. I just let'em grab what floats by from feeding the fish, my zoos quite often grab brine shrimp. The others don't save my Rics ocasionally wiil grab some brine shrimp if it lands on them. It really depends on what corals you got. What do you got?

When I can't get DT's, I use ESV's spray-dried phytoplankton. Three times a week seems to work wonders...IMHO...

Feed the fish! The corals will take what is left in whatever form that works for them.

Though it is correct that most corals do not directly ingest the Phytoplankton, most, if not all corals will benefit from the byproducts of phytoplankton feeding. You create larger, and often more diverse zooplankton populations, the breakdown products of phytoplankton feed the corals with dissolved organic compounds and molecular level products.

It was once that people said feeding phytopankton was of no benefit. To convince people otherwise, all they need do is see a tank that has been feed phyto to know the differance.

There are a number of new foods that target corals with a zooplankton sized feed. However, their are very few that can be ingested by the majority of corals.

Feed the hammer coral small chopped pieces of shrimp, fish or scallop. I just buy a little bit from the seafood dept of the gorcery store and keep it in the freezer.
