Hi all,

I have a sun coral, have had it for a few weeks now, and have steadily been feeding it. I have been trying to find a way to supply small amounts of constant feeding to maximize the time it has its polyps out and here is my idea.

I have a fairly well stocked 125 gallon SPS tank with a 60 gallon refugium and a 20 gallon sump. I would like to take a one gallon jug, fill it with salt water, drop in a pencil's eraser size of cyclop-eeze and use an air valve to regulate my drip rate into my sump.

Is this a good idea or even feasible? Is it too much constant feeding? Would it cause an algae bloom? Would a different type of food be better or is it a bad idea all together?

Thanks,

Eddi

You have to determine how quickly the jug will empty into the reef. If it will in one day, then you can compare it to how much you feed by conventional methods to make sure you are not adding much more food than you were before.
