My tank turned 3  on October 1st. I haven't posted any pictures in a while, so today I took some shots and here they are.

Thanks Manny. No I don't have very many fish right now. I have a percula clownfish and a green manderin that are about 2.5 years old. I also have a relatively new Atlantic Blue Tang. That tang is very agressive and I likely want add any more fish to this tank. Later, when I upgrade to a 300 that is in the works, I plan on buy quite a few fish. I'll keep the tang in this tank until the 300 is fully stocked, then I'll add this tang and any other tangs that I want in the 300, simultaneuously.

One benefit to not have many fish is less maintenance. I just went 2.5 months in between water changes and I don't believe you could get away with that with a heavily stocked tank.

I have 2 X 175W 10K Ushios halides and 2 x 110W URI actinic VHO's.

I wish I had 250W halides.

Very nice louey! Just look at all that coraline growth, you wouldn't happen to have a good calcium reactor would you?

beautiful, interesting theory not too many fish. That coraline is a result of excellent water flow? congratulations

Thanks for all the kind words guys. ;)

I don't think the coraline grow is due to flow, it is due to calcium being maintained at 440PPM and having high alkalinity of 4.0 DKH. That orange monti has only been in the tank for 1 year and has grown from a frag the size of a quarter in that time frame. The green monti grew from a similar size frag in only 6 months. The T. Gigas has more than doubled in size in 10 months.

MH lighting, quality water, decent flow, and high CA and Alk are the keys IMHO.

I cant wait to get my 300 up and running with 4-400W MH and a nilsen reactor and a calcium reactor. I can't imagine the growth rates then. :D
