to amp or not to amp

I have been updating some equipment since schools out and that means money again :lol: Anyway I have been looking at return pumps for my 210 and I think its been narrowed down to two.
The ampmaster 3000 by dolphin pumps
And the Mag Drive model 36
My problem is I know a lot of people love their ampmaster but from what I can tell they both have 3600gph flow. Also the mag drive is only 164.99$

However, I believe their pump curves might be different. I know we've got the pump curve for the Ampmaster 3000 at http://reefs.org/library/pumps/ but I'm not sure about the Mag36...

Three reasons I'd pick the ampmaster:
1) Less amperage draw (based on $ 0.10 per kilowatt hour, you'll save $100 a month with the Ampmaster)
2) Doesn't transfer as much heat (motor is more isolated then on Mag's)
3) Better build, less likely to leak. Ampmasters are true external/inline designs, whereas Mags are semi-sealed powerheads.

Well, I definatly think that I will be getting a ampmaster instead of the mag. I have recently read some real mag bashing and dont want to drop that much on an inferior product. Although my parents pay the electric bill, 100$ a month is a huge amount and I think that they would veto the magdrive at that price.
