Yes I've been doing saltwater tanks without ro/di for years now
Unless you count the TWP I use to use
Anyways I finally got a nice RO/DI http://www.aquariumwaterfilters.com/RODI/Barracuda.html
Its rated for 100GPD and my water pressure averages 52psi. I used it last night and got about 3.5 gallons per hour. Is that good? That comes out to 84gpd (I assume the rating of GPD on RO/DIs is a 24hour period?)
If my systems is rated for 100gpd should I get 100gpd or is that a "perfect" world rating and not realy achievable?
Also it came with a dual TDS mounted meter (sweet
). My incoming well water TDS is 160ppm. Comparatively speaking is that a high reading for a home? I have 4 kids that drink koolaid all the time and all that sugar is one thing but I'd hate to find out our well water is sewage too. If it is I will put a "ROonly" valve on my RO/DI for drinking water or maybe just get the additional drinking water kit altogether.
(Boy I hope this new RO/DI helps clear up my cyano and hair algae problem.)
TIA
