I need information on guaiagorgia especies and maintenace in tanks. This is a gorgonia that is characterised by having veri thin branches with blue polips the number of branches is very scarce. My main question is if it is a fotosyntetic gorgonian or not. This question is due to the fact that this especies is close related to gorgonia ventalina that I think is fotosyntetic but in the books (spung.., a quick reference to corals) say that it is not fotosyntetic but the polips open during the day.

Normally the rule of thumb I've used is that if the polyps are completely white, that the gorgonian is nonphotosynthetic. You may want to check:
