Beauty job! Excellent placement on the leather.. Looks like you'll be able to trim it down / prop it out and still keep it looking very nice.

why so cloudy?

I assume it's from the Southdown sand. It takes a few days before it settles down all the way.

I wish my sun coral looked as happy as yours

It's a tubeastrea, file is misnamed but I am too tired to fix it tonite. Key is feeding and not too much light. Each polyp must be fed. Some feed in a bucket, and I do that once in a while, or just baste the polyps with the flow off.

Nice tank!, One question though...When you transferred everything over to the tank, did you wait until the new water you added cycled, or did you just add new water and old water together and add livestock? Just curious because im transferring to a 130 gal from a 55gal I currently have, And more then likely ill have to wait for all the new tank water to cycle first...Also what equipment etc.. you have running that tank?....

The new tank was set up for a couple of weeks and did it's cycle with 26 lbs. of LR. We get the LR about 2 minutes away and it was cured there. Did get a little cycle, only lasted a few days. We didn't end up using much water from the 55, only about 15 gal. Most corals started opening up pretty quickly after added. All fish seem to be doing good as well, they enjoy all the new swimming room now.
As far as equipment goes: We're running 2 bak-paks, becuase we already had them. A CPR Aquafuge which will be replaced by a 30 gal. refugium under the tank soon. 4 Maxi-jet powerheads for circulation, which will hopefully be replaced by a closed loop in the future. Lighting is (2) 175w MH's and a JBJ 4x65w PC's. PC's will go bye bye when we can afford a new MH.

These pics were taken a couple of hours after set-up. Southdown takes awhile to settle.
That is a huge mandarin or am I seeing things?
You are seeing things, it's a mandarin (wouldn't say hugh) Nice at healthy though. The CPR Aquafuge is a little pod factory. We've had him for about 3 months now and is doing well. I was at the LFS yesterday and they had a mandarin that was sickly skinny. Sad. It was in a 30 gal. coral tank and probably decimated the pods quickly. I told them they need to feed him but they don't have the pod population. It will probably starve to death. :(
