best way i find 2 cycle is to make a massive ammonia spike, then add bacteria or LR, as soon as the ammonia drops (you can use seachem ammonia alert) the tanks ready!! thats IME and IMO

1.021 will be fine for fish, but corals need a SG of around 1.025-1.026.

Your sg is too low. Bring it up to 1.025. Do it before adding livestock or liverock so you dont shock them when you do it later. Looks nice. 75gal?

If it is a 75 everything underneath looks great but did you really need everything.I could see if it was a 100.

its really not that much...i mean....the wet dry was a waste, but i have it so why not use it....then i got that HOT for like 50 bucks for some carbon...and then the nautilus wouldnt fit in the stupid wet dry so i added a 5 dollar rubbermaid to it and thats it...

i mean it works good i suppose...its a 75 yea.

its been about 6 hours and the water is white now instead of brown...i can see my rock at least.

thanks for the compliments

I have a 55 and all I have is a canister,2 power heads and prizm skimmer. My tank has been doing awsome for over a year. Sometimes in a small tank people dp an overkill.

Drop the Magnum and then drop the carbon in the sump. You're just wasting electricity and run the risk of the carbon getting colonized with nitrifying bacteria.

Yeh your probably right. Now the fun begins. When I put my LR in I put it in 2 different times. What a pain. I suggest puttin it in all at once. It makes it easier. I feel that my LR did wonders for my tank.Alot of people say different.

well i wish it could be that easy for me...as soon as this sand settles...i have to add a little more...i cant really tell how much i got in yet but i dont think its enough...and im broke so im ganna have to add a little rock at a time. they have a lot of big pieces at my LFS ill probably get a bunch of them next pay day.

i was stupid and i set up my tank to run without the sand and rock so now when i added it all, ive had to bail a lot of water out into gallon jugs.

what you need to do is find someone you like that has experiance and stay with him.Everyone has their own thoughts and it will be very confusing.the first 6 mnths I was very confused.I found someone I like and stuck with him and he has not stirred me wrong.Good Luck

Let me know if you want a few chunks of live rock and some sand - I am breaking down my 75 gallon and have a lot of extra live rock (mostly smaller pieces) and sand plus all kinds of macroalgaes. If you are buying live rock Aquatek and Autin Aquariums are probably about the cheapest around - Aquatek occasionally will have it for 2.99 /lb but I think it's back up to 6 bucks now - Austin Aquariums has nice tonga shelf, branch as well as regular fiji uncured for pretty cheap and cured a little more.
