I was so tickled with the growth of this frag that I had to share it. From what I could see, there are about 30 new spikes on it since I got it on the 16th of July (15 days ago). There is also a smaller one with fewer spikes on it, but also doing great.

Please excuse the picture quality.

I am so jealous!
I just had to toss a birdsnest, the one i wanted for so long, because it bleached and lost it's tissue slowly after about a month, leaving a hair algae coral in it's place. I had only had it for a few days when a calcium precipitation occurred, due to my stupidity. Thankfully this newest addition was the only coral affected. Anyway, I hope to try one again soon, as they are my favorite sps. Good growth on that one, and good luck!

Birdnest is one of the fastest growing SPS if you consider the number of branching within a fixed time frame. Other metrics used are the increase in length, mass, and covered area (diameter). Looks like it is doing well in your tank.

The picture quality is very good. You just need to get it to focus on the coral, not the coralline algae on the wall. :)

That's the problem - it's an auto-focus camera with a small display. I can't tell if the picture is in focus, or what it is focused on until after it has been taken, and downloaded.

You may want to check out the photo forums, but try to get it to hold the focus by pointing it at the rock on the base of the coral, and half-press the shutter button, then move your aim to the coral, and fully press the buttom to take the picture. For most camera, it usually works.
