I tried to locate the answer to this in search, but couldn't find it. So here goes for a thousand or more times.
Going to put a 175 Mh light on my 20g. Is the 10K bulb what I want or another? Like my teeth, I don't want yellow. but overpowering blue either. There want be other lighting.
Thanks.

IMO, 10,000K would be the bulb for you. It is for me. Crisp white light with a hint of ice blue. My big thumbs up :)

I agree, Ushios are good lamps. Aqualine (AB) 10K lamps are a good choice as well (also a German lamp).

I prefer the appearance of the AB 10ks (slightly bluer tint IMO) over the Ushios.

I just put a new MH setup over my 44. I originally ordered a 14000K 250 Watt but they messed up and gave me the 10000K German by accident. Worked out in my favor as the 10000K is great. Very ice-white. It reminds me of very intense moonlight for lack of a better description.

No yellow. Nice color is brought out in my corals. It's the only bulb I run and I am happy with it.

The AB&Ushio 10K is a good bulb in 175W. To my knowledge there isn't a 175W radium available(150W only in Ushio). Venture makes a 175W 10K but this is the bluer( more like 14K )bulb-it is cheap however. ALS is 12K-I don't have any experience with it.
Adam.
