i'm looking for an answer to a question? i have in my tank 35 gal) several pieces of gorgonian a large piece of frogspawn and a colt coral . just wandering if lighting is okay. 1 20 watt actinic 1 20 watt 18000k aqua glo and 100w mh 4000k any help would be great.

What are the dimensions of the tank?

Sounds like it could work, although I'm not sure what the appearance will be like. Might be yellowish looking.

I'd be concerned the 4000K halide will promote unwanted algae growth. I've found warm lights tend to encourage shallow-water algae blooms.

i always read that you should use 5500k or better but i dont know if thats what is recommended anymore or why its recommended

thanks for the input my tank is 35 gal 36x12x12 kinda low but will be upgrading to 55 gal 48x12x20 i dont have any algea blooms that i see have lots of coraline algea growing on glass though. :lol:
