i have 220 fowlr and im trying to connect three sumps. three because i couldnt fit one large under my stand. my question is what size bulkheads do i need to use?
i bought 4 two inch ones but cant find a drill bit for a hole that big. the diameter of the entire bulkhead is closer to three, as opposed to 2in internal diameter, and i dont know what to do. could i get away with a two 3/4in bulkheads? is there any standard for pipe size versus flow rate? ill be running 1000-1200 gph and i need to know before in the morning. thanks alot

I got my hole saw for 2" bulkhead at Orchards, but most places like Lowes or Home depot sell them. I got my diamond bit for a 2" bulkhead at sommer & macca. Which do you need, glass or acrylic? I'll give you a link to either.

Ps. I do belive you can pass that much water thru 2 3/4", but it leaves no room for error. 2 1" min. IMO.

PSS. 2" pipe can pass 4400gph

My biggest concern would actually be the plugging potential of the 3/4" bulkheads. Doesn't take much macroalgae or something to plug a hole.

And, for the record, I'm smarter than you are.

:P

Seriously, I'd be interested to see pics of your final setup. Three sumps sounds like a unique idea.

Peace,
