any suggestions? it`s my old reef tank and now that i moved everthing from the reef into the new 375g i want to put my fish from my 90 and 30 in there. i have a porc puffer, panther grouper, passer angel, cuban hogfish, clown, humma and rectangled triggers. i know that the puffer will eat small smalls. i was thinking cucumbers, turbo snails, serpent stars maybe some large hermit crabs. whats your opinion? and how many? i`d like to be able to keep the 200lbs of live rock and the 4"SD sand bed clean.

Aside from what you were planning (which seem fine to me), urchins could work well to clean algae. A bit pricey, but I can't imagine anything getting to the flesh of tropical abalones. Burrowing snails like Tapestry snails could work your substrate without much predation too.

I'll suggest more if they come to mind.

I was going to suggest urchins as well, but I think some triggers have the ability to blow urchins over and eat them from underneath. At least thats what I saw on a T.V. special once. I tried some huge turbo snails in my fowlr, but I think my wrasse finally got to them. I still have both my left hand hermits though.

i got a detrivore kit from marine ecosystems with lots of bristle worms that do a great job on my sand and rocks. doesnt eat algae though. how about a horseshoe crab? :) i think they get big though and i don't know if your fish will attack it. triggers are bad boys.
