I'm upgrading from a 125 to a 180 gal, to house primarily SPS corals (and prolly a few clams). I plan to keep a light to moderate fish load.

Currently I have a Lifereef HSV-24 in -sump skimmer. Will that be sufficient for the 180 or do I need more?

(if I need more, can I add another skimmer, or do I need to swap out the Lifereef for a larger unit)

Thanks folks

I have a the same lifereef skimmer. If memory serves, I beleive Jeff @ Lifereef says that skimmer could easily work on a tank of 200G or more. Why not drop him an email to confirm.

Many people run tanks without any skimmer at all. So...any skimmer is adequate, depending on your setup and needs. Any skimmer at all might also be overkill, again depending on your needs.
