I am thinking of doing the Durso standpipe thing to get a new gurgle cause my pump is putting out alot more water now after moving it. Only thing is I am kinda scared of that 1 inch pipe getting clogged one day. Is there any way to prevent this ? Had anyone had theres get clogged ?

I added a Durso to my tank not too long ago and am very pleased that I did. If you have a standard overflow with 1" drain plumbing then you will need to use either 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" pipe to make your Durso. If you have an AGA you will have to use 1 1/4" and cut the street elbow and tee down a little to make them small enough to fit in the AGA overflow. If you are worried about something getting into the plumbing and clogging it up (snails or whatever) then you could also add an intake screen on the Durso (you could easily make one out of eggcrate). BTW make the air hole in the Durso only as big as you need it to drain properly and you will hardly be able to hear it. Good luck, Skip
