I've decided to slow down and hopefully do this the right way. For the time being I am going to set my tank up with my US Aquarium Filter and gradually build my sump and my protein skimmer, think this is a good idea and will it be a problem for my tank when I do make the switch?

if anything is worth doing it's worth doing right. Best bet with this hobby is to do it the way you want it the first time around. Will the swich cause problems? Can't say for sure. But not having to do a switch will definitely not cause problems.. :)

I say go for it. Most aquarists dont have bottomless pockets and cant front the money they need to get everything they want right away ( I am one of them). As you will find out you will always be changing things in your tank whether it be lights, pumps, livestock whatever. I think one of the things that makes it great is that there isnt one way to setup your system. There are ideal ways but everyone has their own ideas. So I say start slow and gradually build!
