Hey,
The time to set up my tank is nearing. I did a freshwater run today and hooked up my skimmer(T1000) and i use a hagen 204 to put water in it. This does not pump enough water into the skimmer so i hooked up my rio800 to it was just perfect. The thing is that it is a rio and i am scared of the pump blowing up and releasing chemicals. Does the small rios like the 800 do this or is it the 1700 and higher? Has anyone had problems with a rio800? Thanks.
BTW i tried out my aquastarlight future on the 75gal and all i can say is wow. The light is awesome and so is the color. My brother was wonedering if i had a nuclear silo in the house because he seen the light from outside. Sorry just had to brag!!!

Hi Iceman,

Yeah, the Rio 800's are okay. You should clean them monthly. I have the same lighting setup on my 75, it's pretty sweet!

All makes and models has their failure rate, but I'd rather trust my tank with another brand.

I haven't had my MAGs causing disaster on me yet.

Rio's are mini-grenades waiting to go off. Save yourself the future headache and invest in another brand. I like Hagens and Maxijets.
