just purchased euro reef

I just ordered a cs6-1 from the skimmerman! I cant wait for it to come and replace my "sea clown" LOL. That should be a good sized skimmer for my 90 gallon tank right? I have total water volume of 90 gallons with the sump. thanks

Good choice IMO. A very "user friendly" skimmer. I haven't touched mine in 6 months (other than dumping the collection cup once a week).

I am also considering a Euro Reef skimmer. Please let us know how hard/easy it is to setup and use. I also hav a question about if these skimmers are in sump or out of sump or both?

Euro reefs are insump but you can get larger ones for out of sump with external pumps. I just hocked one up to my 40 sea horse tank and they are very simple to setup and very simple to adjust. I had it up and running in 5 minutes from the box.
I also will have CS 8-3 in the next month that some one is holding for me. This think is a monster.

Good choice Newbie..Due to small sump size I got the ES5-2 and it has outperformed a bunch of skimmers ive seen and used in the past. Just be sure to hold your nose when you empty the skimate...that stuff reaks!!

This is a decent skimmer. I used to use the CS8-3 on my 75 but recently chaned it for a bullet 3 with waste collector.

I like the waste collector, it makes life easier when I go on my dive trips. I also think the performance is much better then the euro reef skimmer. The euro reef is really just a larger venturi skimmer. It was always easier to operate then the bullet but I dont mind that.

Also the replacement sedra pumps and impellars are very expensive. I also thought they were in sump only although that could have changed I didnt think any model was in line compatable. I also like the bullet because of the external pump. The CS8-3 was a monster though and always filled very thick with tiny air bubbles. The CS8-3 also has a longer contact time then the bullet skimmer.

hey reefnewbie, did you get it through ebay, or direct contact? ive been watching for one on ebay and havent seen one. i also tried emailing him. if ya dont mind how much did ya shell out? unless you already told us which means i will find out, nope you didnt. let me know how you contacted him thans a lot.

i to have been "skimming" ebay for euro reef. I contacted him through skimmerman@pacbell.net and paid 230 dollars for it.
