My AquaC EV180 is here!

I got it overnight for ground rates..... MarineDepot is awesome....

I hooked it up. it is dead quiet. It is quieter than my euroreef and the euroreef knockoff.

I needed to raise it about 1" I cut up some 3/4" ID vinyl hose and put the skimmer on that. ( no sliding and very little compression)

it is great..

just thought i would boast!!!!!

Less than $300, 18K gold, .56pts in G-H diamonds, VS clarity. They used less gold than expected (custom ring, btw) and actually CREDITED me the difference!

Congrat, guess you really liked the EV's. I am one of their fans too. Though the last skimmer I bought happened to be MyReef's......

The thing is starting to show a little foam. i rinsed it and soaked it in hot water. scrubbed it with my bare hand to free up some of the stuff used to make it.

It came packaged in a hardend foam box. no chance of breakage. it came with a great manual.....

I asked jason about the height of the skimmer. my waterline in my sump was to the middel of the ball valve.. he said raise it an inch if i could....

other than that.

BTW - I forgot how queit those mag pumps are.. I can't hear the thing...

it is very very cool.

Hey LA, congrats on your new skimmer, once it is fully broken in, and fully integrated, i might pick your brain for the differences between that and the euroreef. im still in the market for a high quality skimmer, and i wanna get peoples opinions who have had different types.

The skimmer is VERY quiet. The Mag pump is great. a little more heat but very efficient..
