My tank has been going through this algae bloom for a few months now. Most of the algae that is forming is bryopsis (as stated in the HHF). The other stuff is macro algae that my amphipods love to reproduce. The latter is much easier to remove from the tank. Howerver the bryopsis is spreading. It doesn't look bad, it is a pretty green (like spring grass) but it's getting to be too much!

I'm thinking of getting a lawnmower blenny ot help combat this probelm. If you have anyother suggestions please let me know.

I have never kept one, so I don't know how they get along with fish, or how they do in general, but lettuce nudis are known to eat the stuff, and lots of people lately are keeping them. Like I said.....just something for you to research since I haven't.

Does anyone know where I can get the "sea letuce slug" Tridachia crispa? I thought Inland Aquatics carried them but I can't find them on their page.

If a lawnmower will eat the bryopsis, I'd rather go with him, since he should eat other/prepaired foods also. Where as the naudi won't.

Thanks for the replies! Any more. . .

I would say NO to the sally light foot crab. they will get big and take out fish.. then u cant catch them because they are quick......

Try the Lettuce Nudibranchs they are great. they will last a long time as long as there is food to eat....

cover the powerhead intakes though. they try to eat the impellers?!? 8O
