LA-Lawman, Yes that's a Tunze Stream on the tank. I like it a lot, it gives a ton of flow throughout the whole tank. It seems to work great. As the tank matures it become more difficult to get the right flow in side the tank. this pump helps a lot.
Rich & yancey, I'm using a Nikon 995. I use the manual setting, with the custom white balance and drop the exposure a notch so the lighting doesn't over saturate the pictures and you can get some really nice shots.
Rich when are you moving? good luck with the tank!
JB: Are you using the sea swirls and the Tunze? What pump size on the see swirls & what size are the sea swirls.
I just got 2-3/4inch sea swirls added to my 180G because after three years of growth circulation was obstructed. I am experimenting with a surge tank and I like it a lot; except for the noise. Thanks for sharing your info & success

Yes I'm using them both. I have a Sequence 6000 as my main circulitory pump going through two 3/4 sea-swirls.
Are you tailoring to the Goni in any particular way (target food), or does it get the same treatment as the other corals? Do you feed phyto? GPs?
It's an Alveopora, I've had it since 06/01, I am not taloring to it at all. Basically I just leave it there. I do feed the tank live phtyoplankton, live rotifers, cyclo-peeze as well as the fishes food. So I'm sure it gets something out of those.
My question is concerning the Euphyllia (sp) species coral, in the left hand corner of your tank. I believe it is a green branching hammer or simular. What kind of current does it get? Does it get blown around very much?
The coral is a hammer coral (euphyllia ancora), it not branching rather flabello-meandroid (sort of a winding valley). I would say it gets medium current. If you notice the tunze stream powerhead is right above it, so there is not too much current below. In the 1 1/2 years I have had it, it's grown tremendously.
