Very nicely done! I especially like the stand. Did you make it yourself?

Great tank and I hope you did not do what I would have in that tank.

Just kidding.

They say seed the tank and I am hopeing you got that off well?

Just kidding again.

Really good job and I did wonder?
Is there a little greenery growing in there?
I thought I saw some hair alg starting. Did you see a start of this and then it went away?

I also wonder what you do for Additives toward the CA stabilising?
Do you use ARM+H soda and washing soda?
Do you Kalk with Lime juice?
If so on these items, please post on this topic.
Have you had any light heat problems with your hood?

I think it looks great and the plumbing looked good as well. What type of Evap are you getting?

I am running 1 of three tanks in a Grand Piano room where the temp is perfect and the Evap on the tank is at least 1/2gal to 1 gallon per day.
This tank is 270 total water/rock/sump volume and I wondered if you see a whole lot of Evap on that much volume?

Please give me a shout at : [email protected]
I would shurely like to see what your setting are and compaire to my three tank systems.
I am looking at a 4-500gal and a 1,200-1,400gallon setup , soon.
I am converting the 3 car garage and building these setups.

I see you study your tank and setups well and would like to get some ideas.

:D

Thanks for the compliments on the tank. With over 30 fish in the tank and about 50 species of corals as well as a ton of other critters (7 starfish, etc.) I don't personally think the tank is all that boring but I would like to know what I could do to make it more interesting for you Nelliereefster.

The tank weighed right around 1,400 lbs empty, and I did much of the plumbing work standing in the tank so I wasn't too worried about my wife and nieces getting in the tank. 3/4" glass seems pretty sturdy!

The tank is an Inter-American with standard glass (not starphire). Dimensions are 122"x28"x28". I had the stand 2" tube steel made and had a same mason that did the rockwork on my fireplace and chimmey do the rockwork on the tank after I put the plywood on and made the doors.

The tank is right at 1 year old with most of the softies & lps moved over from my old 120, but pretty much all of the sps are new most of them frags less than 9 months old.

saltcritter,

I'm getting right around 10 gallons per day of evaporation, but I'm using 12 fans to keep my temperatures in line instead of a chiller. I use a calcium reactor with geomarine substrate in addition to a DIY kalkwasser reactor. I've disolved around 40lbs of media in my calcium reactor in the last 9 months! The sps corals have really been growing at amazing rates.

I did post that!

I mean by that statement that 1 of three, to state that the one tank system of witch I was talking about is the one of three systems that I had questions about and that it was of simular size to the one this person is speeking and showing pics of.

The other systems are also running and are 120w/large sump + 90gallon refuge w/ 50gallon cube tank, as a SPS and other Coral growth tank, COMBO/tied togeather combo tank system.

Thanks for the EXPLAIN on the lighting and some specs on the type of equip that you are useing.

I will be setting up Much larger systems than yours, but , I wanted to see if you are doing the Lime juice/Bakeing/washing soda additive thing and or have you heard of such stuff at all?

Are you set with your system, or are you testing other options for Kalk and CA additives?

Is there a starting base of buffers and all that you started with and then worked up or down to find what is working for your corals? Is the starting amounts the same as you are useing now for CA additives and other additives?

I have in 2-3 months, noticed NO! change in my levels. Is this just luck or am I missing something? Should I let the additives go for a while untill I see the drop in there being at great levels, to see if I am doing reading the right way?

Please let me know what levels/amounts you have adjusted to get the results you have. :?

Nathen,

Mind you, i think ill be doing the same when i get mine, damn chillers are so expensive. Besides, im going to bite the bullet and go for these cooler running T5 bulbs from D&D. Hopefully ill be able to get by without one.

Looking fantastic BTW, allmost mature, allmost. Keep us posted.

I sincerely hope the suncoral (orange stony coral) has been moved to under a cave and receives flow and feedings.

Thanks,
Brian
